Geothermal Energy Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages of Geothermal Power
* Requires no fuel and is therefore emissions free
* Capacity factor is quite large as energy source is constant
* Sustainable energy as heat extraction is quite small
* Very small amount of land usage for geothermal power
* Highly scalable from large cities to small villages
Disadvantages of Geothermal Power
* Geothermal power fluid is corosive
* Fluid is at low temperatures limiting heat engine efficiency
* May emit low levels of carbon dioxide and sulphur
* Location may eventually cool down temporarily
